About Me

I am a fully qualified and registered psychotherapist with the Human Givens Institute (HGI). My practice is guided by their high standards, ethics and regulations. The H.G.I. is accredited and registered with the Professional Standards Agency, a government body approved by N.I.C.E.

Originally, I qualified as an Occupational therapist and worked in the NHS for over 20 years.  I worked in different departments gaining a wealth of knowledge from a variety of fields of medicine and healthcare.

I now manage and run a busy psychotherapy practice in Manchester, having been in private practice for over 20 years. And have a wealth of experience helping people with various issues.

I still work for the NHS helping NHS staff with life events.

I also work for PTSD Resolution, a leading military charity, providing psychotherapy for military personnel and their families, resolving trauma and other difficulties.

I’ve worked in a local prison in the North of England helping veterans in custody.

I work for a Return to Work company, helping people get back into work again after an absence.

I work for Insurance companies seeing people who have had accidents i.e. road traffic accidents, accidents at work etc.

Thank you so much Beth.  When I look back and see the trail of stupid mistakes I have made since leaving the Army, I cannot believe it was really me doing that stuff. I was terrified coming to see you.  I don’t know why now because in our very first session you drew out that diagram and showed me exactly how basic training had changed me and I thought, it was the end of my world. But then, you drew out another diagram and showed me how we could work together to make some real positive changes and as we worked together I felt those changes happening. I sleep much better at night now, which makes all the difference to my day, I’ve been in work for 4 months now and I actually look forward to getting up in the morning, my wife and I are getting closer too and this feels really good. I know it will take time to heal everything but its starting to happen. Without your help I know I would not be here now. You gave me the bump start I needed. Thank you, thank you,  THANK YOU.

“Hi Beth. Just thought I’d let you know that I’ve had my exams all week and that I didn’t get anxious or nervous at all before or after them. Thank you so much for the techniques you told me. I practiced them before hand and used them all, they were so helpful and I even managed to get a walk in between exams which did help to clear my mind.

Thank you so much for all your help, support, advice and techniques on what to do. They’ve helped so much and really stopped me from being anxious and nervous.”
